WordPress Speed

The speed of your WordPress blog is crucial to its success.

A slow blog means reduced ranking in search results and poor user experience.

Here I have loads of tips for speeding up your blog that even complete beginners can achieve.

Turbocharge your WordPress blog speed

Find it all a bit overwhelming?

There is always something you can do to improve your blog’s speed, whatever your level of expertise.

Why not just try reducing your image sizes? That alone can make a big difference.

Once you get your images under control, how about installing a caching plugin? WP Rocket is perfect for beginners because it works out of the box. You only have to activate the plugin, and your site will race! There are no tweaks necessary. However, I thoroughly recommend switching on lazy loading for images. Your blog will be in the fast lane once you do that!

If you are at the stage where you are choosing your WordPress theme, it’s very worth considering your blog’s speed at that point. There are a few speedy ones to choose from, but I recommend GeneratePress (the theme I use on this blog). Despite being so lightweight, it is highly customisable. You can achieve pretty much any design with GeneratePress.

Delve into the posts below to find out how to do all of the above.
